December was a slightly different month for me, but one I will always look back on positively. After a busy season, it was a chance to experience something new on the global stage and then take time to reset before the year ahead. The highlight was being invited to the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Bahrain to test the Rotax E10, followed by a well earned cooldown away from the track with family.
Going into the final month of the year, the focus was not on results but on learning, development, and making the most of an opportunity that doesn’t come around very often.
Rotax Grand Finals Bahrain – E10 Testing
Being invited to Bahrain for the Rotax Grand Finals was an amazing opportunity and one I am extremely grateful for. The Bahrain International Karting Circuit is an incredible venue, and the atmosphere around the event really shows how big the Rotax platform is worldwide.
My role at the event was to test and demonstrate the Rotax E10 electric kart. From the first sessions, it was clear that this was about more than just lap times. The focus was on understanding the kart, how it delivers performance, and providing clear feedback to help with its ongoing development.
Each run was a learning experience. The E10 is very different to what we are used to in traditional karting, but that challenge is what made the week so enjoyable. Adapting to the characteristics of the kart and building consistency over multiple sessions was key, and I felt more comfortable with every outing.

Learning and Representing Team UK
Testing at this level is a reminder of how important detail and communication are in motorsport. Working closely with the Rotax team and mechanics highlighted just how much work goes into developing new technology and pushing the sport forward.
Once my on track testing was complete, my time in Bahrain continued as I represented Team UK. Being part of such an international event, surrounded by drivers from all over the world, was a great way to end the season and gain more experience off the track as well.
Huge thanks go to JAG Rotax for putting my name forward and trusting me with this role, and to Rotax Karting and the entire team in Bahrain for the opportunity. I also enjoyed sharing the experience with my fellow E10 driver Francesco. It was great working together throughout the week and getting to know each other away from the circuit.
Season Cooldown and Time Away from the Track
After returning home, December shifted into season cooldown mode. No racing, no testing, just time to switch off and enjoy being away from the circuit. Spending Christmas with family was exactly what I needed after a busy year of travel and competition.
Even then, the competitive side never really disappears, whether that’s ice skating on a Saturday morning or just staying active. Taking time away from karting is important, though. It allows me to reflect on the season, appreciate the support around me, and reset mentally and physically.
Looking Ahead
December was the perfect way to close out the year. Testing the Rotax E10 at the Grand Finals was a huge honour and a valuable learning experience, and finishing the season with family time helped me recharge for what’s next.
I am grateful to everyone who supported me throughout the year and made these opportunities possible. I’m looking forward to getting back to work, building on what I’ve learned, and starting the new season motivated and ready to improve.
