LUKE MILWARD - LATEST NEWS

The TVKC Winter Warmer Trophy at PFI presented a challenging yet valuable weekend for Luke Milward as he continued his transition into the InterMax class. With fluctuating lap times during practice and demanding race conditions, it was a weekend full of key learning moments.

Practice Sessions: Finding the Right Setup

Luke faced an inconsistent pace during practice, making the TVKC Winter Warmer Trophy a true test. His lap times varied throughout the sessions, and adjustments to his brake pads in Practice 4 took longer than expected to adapt to. The changes affected his braking points, leading to some mistakes. Despite these setbacks, each session provided valuable insights to refine his approach before qualifying.

Qualifying: A Tough Start

Hoping for a strong grid position, Luke was disappointed to qualify P19, placing him in the middle of the pack. Although not the result he was aiming for, it gave him another opportunity to focus on racecraft development and gain experience in the new class.

Pre-Final & Final: Managing Race Nerves

Starting from mid-grid, Luke’s nerves impacted his performance, causing him to lose positions early in both the Pre-Final and Final. Throughout the weekend, he concentrated on perfecting his braking technique and adjusting to the competitive nature of the InterMax category. Despite the challenges, Luke and his team identified key areas for improvement, ensuring valuable progress for upcoming races.

Looking Ahead

Karting is all about continuous learning, and this weekend significantly contributed to Luke’s growth. He has a clear understanding of the areas that need improvement and remains committed to fine-tuning his skills in preparation for future events.

A huge thank you to KR Sport for their ongoing support, as well as Toby George, Jaye Carpmail, and Ethan Jeff-Hall for their expert coaching. A special mention also goes to KR Engines for ensuring Luke’s kart remained at peak performance.
